The U.S. MAZDA Production Hub

To better serve the needs of American drivers and to create jobs at home, Mazda has invested in manufacturing right here in the United States. Mazda operates a state-of-the-art facility in conjunction with Toyota in Huntsville, AL. The plant is currently responsible for manufacturing the adventurous Mazda CX-50. This is a crossover SUV specifically designed with the active lifestyles of American customers in mind.

The plant has the capacity to build 300,000 vehicles per year, evenly split between the two nameplates. In the summer of 2020, the two parent companies made an additional $830 million commitment to manufacturing right here in the United States.

Japanese Craftsmanship

A large part of what makes Mazda vehicles unique is their artful combination of Japanese craftsmanship and American manufacturing prowess. The major production facilities in Japan are located in Hiroshima and Hofu. These plants are where the automaker’s iconic jinba ittai philosophy – the feeling of oneness between car and driver – was originally born. Many of the most famous Mazda cars on the road, including the Mazda CX-5 and the Mazda MX-5 Miata, are crafted in Japan and imported to the United States.
